We live in a VERY technical world. Click here...click there...instantly done!!! Well, drawing with a pencil is about as 'NON-TECHNICAL" as you can get. It's not TODAY'S WORLD!!! I say "So what???!!!" As an artist, I happen to love drawing with the "lowly pencil". HERE'S WHY:: I feel that I can capture more of the spirit or SOUL of the person being drawn in pencil. I cannot tell you how many deceased or ill children or pets I've drawn. There's something that a pencil portrait can capture that the camera misses.. Yes, some photos make the drawing harder to do than others. It's just how it is. As the artist, I give it my best. I really try hard to capture "the likeness and feeling" of the child or adult. I tell my clients "Send me your FAVORITE photo...the one that captured the spirit of the person." Anyway, yes, the pencil is "old fashioned" but from my perspective, it's better than a "computer created" portrait any day!"
